Getting What You Want and Keeping It; 7 Questions That Will Help You Create A Life You Love

Have you ever wanted something badly, but could never seem to get it? On the other hand, have you ever made up your mind that it was going to happen and it did? You set your mind to it, went to work, changed what needed to change and boom--- you got what you were looking for.

I am a big believer that our thoughts control our outcome. What is going on upstairs is reflected in what experiences we are having in our lives.

You see, the things we think about, influence the things we do. They become our reality and the basis for habits.

However, I have come to understand that if we do not bring all the critical pieces together, we will not truly change, receive or achieve as we want to. That internal churn of doubt, fear, punishment, shame, blame, guilt, and pride are always interpreting and interacting with the outside world.

Are you ready to step it up and bring everything into alignment?

It will not be easy. It will not be fast. What you do next is up to you.

If you are ready, try this on for size.

Grab a pen and paper and write what you want down.

Then ask yourself these six questions:

  1. Why do I want this?
  2. What will I do with it once I have it?
  3. Do I believe I am really worth receiving what I want?
  4. Have I attached a feeling of "pride" or "accomplishment"?
  5. If it is taken away or lost, how will that feel? What thoughts fill your mind when you think about that?
  6. What if this treasured item goes unused and sits forgotten on the shelf or in a box, how will that feel?
  7. Finally, the very last point. What changes are you willing to make to accommodate the achievement of this new goal?
These seven questions will help you determine if you're up to changing your habits and working hard to create the space to receive what you want.

Let me put it to you this way. If you want to release 50 pounds from your frumpy or overweight body, but insist on eating Ben & Jerry's ice-cream 3 times a week, then honey, it will not happen.

I invite you to reverse engineer your wants and goals with these six questions. Be honest, be clear on what you want and get to it! If you are not clear, nothing will happen. If you determine in your mind what it is you want, and combine that goal with consistent daily effort, those habits will stay with you, becoming part of everything you think, do and create.

Here's to you, your path and the clarity to keep you on it. For your convenience, I created a PDF for you as a quick reference to building your life the way you want.

xoxo
