Take On A New Season With Arborvitae Essential Oil

I love to watch the changing of the seasons here in Vermont, but sometimes the change going on in nature, partnered with the chaos that can build at home leaves me in kind of a funk. Do you know what I'm talking about?

It's in these times of the year I find my patience is short, my goals seem impossible to reach, and I feel like I'm drowning in to-do lists.

That's when I know I need to turn to my essential oils, and my favorite one for this is arborvitae!

What Is Arborvitae Essential Oil Used For?

Arborvitae gives massive immune support, to help you get out of bed and back into life, but it also provides that same support to your spirit.

If you're feeling stuck, out of the flow, experience writer's block, managing change, are impatient - this is the essential oil to help you refocus and push aside obstacles in your mind!

Arborvitae oil is derived from the native Canadian arborvitae tree, which many Native Americans call the tree of life and hold in high regard.

How To Use Arborvitae Essential Oil

Emotional Support

If you know me, you know I love to use affirmations with my essential oils. When I use arborvitae, I like to repeat:

“I am now in balance and flow.”

I swipe the oil across my forehead or add a drop onto the crown of my head to support this mental shift and open up my mind to what is possible.

Physical Support

When I'm using arborvitae for physical support, such as coughs, body temperature, intestinal health, and overall immune support for my cells, I love to diffuse it! It blends really well with birch, cedarwood, cassia, or eucalyptus.

Another way you can use arborvitae is as a bug repellent! I love doTERRA's TerraShield, but add in 5 drops of arborvitae to keep away chiggers, sandflies, ticks, and other nasty creepy things that take away from my enjoyment of mother nature!

Things To Note About Arborvitae

This is a "hot oil" - meaning your skin may be more sensitive to it and it should always be diluted when applying to your skin. Use a lotion or any kind of shelf-stable carrier oil like jojoba, sweet almond, or my favorite, fractionated coconut oil.

You'll also want to avoid this oil during pregnancy and do not use if you are epileptic.
I can't wait for you to overcome hurdles, support your body's immune system, and be able to enjoy nature this summer with the help of arborvitae! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me in the comments, I always reply!
